We highly recommend Select Coatings, Inc. and Marcus Reis to anyone looking for quality service at a reasonable price. You will NOT be disappointed in any way. We had our driveway painted by another company three times and it continued to peel and flake after only a week or so. We started to check out numerous companies to find a solution. Most companies either did not return our calls or did not respond to emails and those who did simply did not have a good product or price. Select Coatings and Marcus were totally different from the rest! We went over to their location to see samples and talk with them after checking them out on BBB and other sources. We did not have an appointment as we were in the area and decided to just stop and check them out. Their office and warehouse was clean, neat and full of samples and they welcomed us warmly. Marcus happened to be in the office at the time, gave us a tour of the options, and discussed how they did the work. He offered to come over to our home and check out the situation we had and see what they might be able to do to help us. Marcus came right out, measured the area and gave us a quote to do just the driveway or both the entryway and the driveway. He itemized everything that they would do and because we were without employment at the time he offered a payment program to assist us in getting the work done right away. We scheduled a date for the job to be started. Then after he had a postponement in our area Marcus offered to charge us less if, we would allow them to do the job in their time frame. Awesome, save money and get the job done sooner! They worked with us so we of course wanted to work with them as well. The workers came on time, worked diligently to get the various steps taken care of and were polite to us and caring of our property while they were working here. Marcus oversaw the work and made sure we were pleased with everything. The transformation of our driveway and entryway was phenomenal! Our neighbors complimented us on how beautiful it looked. We were so thrilled that it was not only gorgeous to look at but now was safe to walk on when wet.the original problem that started the painting project. We were given a great warranty, but with the way it looks and has withstood driving on it so far we are sure we will have no problems. We cannot possibly praise Select Coatings and Marcus Reis enough. In addition, his wife was very helpful with all our questions as well. This is definitely a 'top of the line' company who cares about their customers and the work they perform.

Our old pool deck was a mess! The paint that had not chipped and peeled was so slippery it was dangerous and we had to do something. The paint store had recommended that we strip it ourselves, blasting the old chipping and peeling paint with a pressure washer. After two days of that, the two of us had cleared only an area of about 8' by 10'. The patio was an absolute mess and we were exhausted (and covered in paint chips). Yet we had not even been able to remove the patches of old carpet adhesive beneath the paint. My husband found Select Coatings on the Internet and we called them to take a look at our deck and give us a quote. Marcus, the owner, was very professional, and struck us as being very honest as well, when he suggested that we should instead spend our money on resurfacing the pool and wait on the deck. It impressed us that he was willing to turn away work. True, our ugly deck could wait, but being a safety issue, we decided to go ahead with the project. Marcus had plenty of work going on, but we were anxious to get the project done because we were planning a big party and college reunion on the Fourth of July, which happened to be my husband's 50th birthday. Marcus found a way to work us in between the other nearby projects, and they were able to get the job done on time. It is beautiful. His crew came in and actually ground off the old deck, using high-tech equipment with a built-in vacuum system, so that all the dust and paint chips were contained. They ground the corners and edges with a small grinder to get every centimeter off. The workers wore proper protective equipment, which we were also impressed with. They carefully cleaned up after themselves and properly disposed of all the paint chips and dust. (This is the right way to do this. I know, because I write environmental compliance and safety training for military bases. I have seen other companies just blast the old paint off walls, leaving a yard full of paint chips that could certainly contain lead or mercury. Don't ever allow that!) Afterward, they pressure cleaned the entire surface. Once it was dry, they began the process of applying three layers of coatings to the surface. The first was a thin cement coating, and then came the Texture-Crete and Spray-Deck sealer. They worked the existing cracks into the design. They applied the final coat of sealer and a knockdown finish. The result was a beautiful, non-slip textured surface. We have had to do a lot of work on this house in the five years that we've owned it, due partly to neglect of the previous owners and partly to three hurricanes. My husband and I agree that of all the things we've done to the house, this new deck was the project that really makes the most difference in the look and feel of our home, and the money was well spent. We are absolutely thrilled and would highly recommend Select Coatings to anyone. We're happy to talk to you if you want to contact us through Select Coatings. We have long wanted to resurface our driveway and pool deck, but always felt the project would be too expensive. We found Select Coatings through an ad in Home Magazine, and called them. Marcus Reis came out promptly, and spent an hour with us, discussing what we wanted, showing us samples, and explaining the process; he measured and gave us a rough estimate. After a couple of weeks, a visit to their showroom, a check with the Better Business Bureau - where they have an "A" rating, and a lot of phone calls (all of which were promptly returned), we decided to proceed. We contracted to have our driveway, entryway and pool deck refinished. Marcus had his crew here early on the day promised. I cannot say enough about the two men who did the project. They were always courteous and professional. Their workmanship was top notch, and it is obvious they take a great deal of pride in the results of their labor. I was amazed at how labor-intensive the project was. They spent a great deal of time masking and protecting the adjoining areas, they took as much care as if it were their own home. And, as promised, Marcus was here often while the work was being done, and always asked if we were pleased with the work so far.
Now that the project is done (and completed on time), we are very pleased with the results. It has made a tremendous improvement in the look of our home, and we already had several neighbors compliment the result. Although our home is 30 years old, having this work done has made it look new. Many thanks to Marcus and his crew for a job well done. There are so many times these days when you don't feel like you get your money's worth on a project and with Select Coatings, we feel like we got more than our money's worth.
